| Battery listing | Nominal energy / voltage | Listed price | Price per nominal kWh* |
|---|---|---|---|
| Renon EBrick | 5.12kWh / 51.2V | ₦1,106,900 | ≈ ₦216,191 |
| Jinko JKS-51100 listing | 5.12kWh / 51.2V | ₦1,170,100 | ≈ ₦228,535 |
| Jinko JKS-48100-HI listing | 4.8kWh / 48V | ₦1,237,700 | ≈ ₦257,854 |
*Our calculation: listed price ÷ nominal kWh, rounded to the nearest naira. This compares purchase price per unit of labelled storage, not lifetime electricity cost or overall quality.
The Renon is the lowest-priced listing in this small sample. That does not make it the best match for every inverter. Its manufacturer datasheet identifies model R-EB005161, indoor rack mounting and a 4.8kW power rating. Confirm the supplied model, mounting hardware and supported inverter communication.
The Jinko 5.12kWh listing describes model JKS-B51100-II and states 4.1kWh usable capacity. The 4.8kWh listing describes JKS-B48100-HI and states more than 4.5kWh usable at 25°C. Match those longer model codes to the label and datasheet before comparing them: the larger nominal number alone does not establish more usable storage.
A “5kW battery” is an incomplete description
kWh describes stored energy. kW describes power. A battery advertised as “5kW” still needs an energy rating and a permitted discharge-power rating. One tells you roughly how long it can run a load; the other helps determine whether it can supply that load at all.
A 51.2V, 100Ah battery has 51.2 × 100 = 5,120Wh, or 5.12kWh, of nominal energy. A 48V, 100Ah battery has 4.8kWh. Neither calculation tells you how much reaches your sockets after the permitted discharge limit and inverter losses.
Ask the supplier for usable kWh under the warranty conditions, rather than applying the same discharge percentage to every lithium battery. If a datasheet already gives usable energy, do not reduce it by depth of discharge a second time.
How long could a 5.12kWh battery last?
For a planning example, assume 90% of nominal energy is usable and the inverter converts that energy at 90% efficiency. Those are example assumptions, not specifications for every battery above.
Estimated hours: 4,147Wh ÷ the average appliance load in watts.
| Average load | Calculated runtime |
|---|---|
| 200W | 20.7 hours |
| 400W | 10.4 hours |
| 800W | 5.2 hours |
| 1,500W | 2.8 hours |
These are energy estimates with a full battery and no recharging. Battery age, heat, reserve settings and inverter standby consumption can shorten them. Fridges and air conditioners cycle, so their daily consumption needs more care than multiplying the nameplate watts by 24 hours. Starting demand must also fit the battery and inverter.
For the Jinko listing that specifies 4.1kWh usable, using that figure and 90% inverter efficiency gives 4,100 × 0.90 ÷ 400 ≈ 9.2 hours at 400W. This shows why the battery-specific usable figure matters. Adjust the assumptions in our battery runtime calculator.
Can you replace a tubular battery with lithium?
Sometimes, but it is not a swap to make from the Ah label alone. Have the installer check the inverter’s supported battery voltage range, charging settings, lithium compatibility, communication protocol and the battery’s charge/discharge limits.
A 51.2V battery is not a substitute for a 12V battery bank. Likewise, two products sold as “48V class” still need compatible operating voltages and controls. The presence of CAN or RS485 sockets does not by itself prove that two products communicate correctly.
Ask for the exact inverter model on the battery supplier’s compatibility list or written confirmation of an approved operating method. Any lead-acid equalisation setting must be addressed according to the equipment manuals. Cable sizes, protection and installation are jobs for a qualified installer.

- Identity: exact model, serial number, nominal and usable kWh, and whether the unit is new.
- Compatibility: inverter model, supported software or communication and required settings.
- Installation: rack or stand, cables, connectors, protective equipment, labour and commissioning.
- Warranty: written local terms, claim contact, transport costs and capacity-retention conditions.
- Final amount: tax, delivery and all extras separately itemised.
A long cycle-life claim is not an unconditional replacement warranty. Check the temperature, discharge depth, test rate and end-of-life capacity attached to it. Compare local support alongside the headline number.
Common buying questions
Is a 100Ah lithium battery smaller than a 200Ah tubular battery?
You cannot tell without voltage. A 51.2V 100Ah battery is 5.12kWh nominal; a single 12V 200Ah battery is 2.4kWh nominal. Permitted discharge and losses make the usable comparison different again. Our 200Ah battery guide works through this distinction.
How much will 10kWh cost?
Do not treat twice a 5kWh price as a verified 10kWh product quote. Two Renon units at the listed price would total ₦2,213,800 for 10.24kWh nominal, before extras. That is arithmetic, not a recommendation to connect them: the installer must confirm the permitted configuration, controls and inverter capacity.
Does this price include an inverter and panels?
The table is for battery units. Budget separately for a compatible inverter and, if required, solar generation. See solar inverter prices in Nigeria for the difference between an inverter price and a full system quote.
How we checked these prices
We read the three linked retailer listings on 23 September 2026 and calculated the price-per-kWh and runtime examples ourselves. This is a limited sample from one seller; it does not establish the cheapest price across Nigeria. We have not tested these batteries, verified stock or evaluated after-sales service. Specifications and written warranty terms should be confirmed for the exact unit offered.
