Solar panel prices in Nigeria: October 2026 price list

See how much one solar panel costs, compare 535W–625W models and work out the panel budget before paying for a complete home installation.

Quick answer: the four individual panels below were listed at ₦120,400–₦140,700 when checked on 21 October 2026. They range from 535W to 625W. This is a small retailer sample, not a national price range, and the figures exclude the rest of a solar system.

How much is a solar panel in Nigeria?

The source for each row is its linked product page at The Solar Shop. These are single-panel advertised prices. All four pages displayed ‘in stock at Victoria Island, ready for pickup’ when checked. This is the seller’s availability claim, not an independent stock inspection. Confirm collection arrangements and any transport, tax, mounting and labour charges on the final invoice.

*Our calculation: single-panel price ÷ its front-side rated watts, rounded to the nearest naira. Equal price per watt does not mean equal compatibility, roof fit or energy yield.

What changed in this update: compared with our 23 September check, the 535W listing rose from ₦117,700 to ₦120,400; the 575W from ₦126,500 to ₦129,400; and both 625W listings from ₦137,500 to ₦140,700. These increases are about 2.3% for this small sample. They do not establish a national market trend.

The Jinko Eagle listing also offers a 27-panel pallet for ₦3,000,000. Its implied ₦111,111 per panel is a bulk calculation; it is not the listed price for buying one panel. Do not use pallet unit prices to budget a small installation unless the seller confirms the same rate.

What would four, six or eight panels cost?

Using the listed ₦140,700 price for a 625W panel gives these equipment-only totals. They are budget arithmetic, not an electrical design or a recommendation for a particular inverter.

QuantityCombined rated capacityPanel cost only
4 panels2.50kWp₦562,800
6 panels3.75kWp₦844,200
8 panels5.00kWp₦1,125,600

The final system also needs a compatible inverter or charge controller, battery storage if required, mounting, cables, protection and installation. A quote headed “5kVA solar” does not establish how many panels or how much battery storage it includes. Compare our inverter price guide and lithium battery price guide alongside the panel cost.

Does a 625W panel produce 625W all day?

No. Its rating is measured under standard test conditions. Sunlight, panel temperature, shade, orientation and system losses change real output. The Jinko 625W manufacturer datasheet, for example, gives 625W under STC and 472W under its NOCT test conditions. Neither number is a promise for every roof or hour.

For a simple energy budget, multiply array kWp by location- and season-appropriate equivalent peak-sun hours and a system-loss allowance. Peak-sun hours are not the number of daylight hours.

Illustration, not a Nigeria-wide forecast:
Four 625W panels = 2.5kWp.
At an assumed 4 equivalent peak-sun hours and 75% net yield: 2.5 × 4 × 0.75 = 7.5kWh per day.
Change either assumption and the result changes. Use local shading and seasonal solar data for design.

That energy must cover daytime appliances, charging losses and whatever is stored for later. It cannot all be counted as overnight battery energy. A battery’s charge-rate limit can also prevent it from accepting every watt available from the panels.

A bigger panel is not automatically a better purchase

Check roof space and handling

The JA Solar 625W listing gives dimensions of about 2.382m × 1.134m and a weight of 33.1kg. Four modules alone occupy about 10.8m² of face area, before roof setbacks, access and spacing. Have the installer check the roof structure and usable layout before ordering.

Check the inverter’s solar input

Panel wattage alone does not establish compatibility. Ask the installer to document the proposed array voltage and current against the inverter or controller’s maximum PV voltage, operating MPPT range and input-current limits. Temperature affects voltage, and series versus parallel connections change the calculation.

Do not connect a household rooftop panel to a small power station simply because its plug can be adapted. The power station may have a much lower input-voltage limit. Use its exact manual and an approved panel configuration.

Understand bifacial claims

Bifacial panels can collect reflected light from behind as well as direct light at the front. The rear-side contribution depends on mounting and surroundings. Do not add an advertised gain percentage to your expected output without a design that supports it, especially on a close-mounted roof.

Cost of solar panels versus a complete installation

The panel price pays for the modules that collect sunlight. It does not tell you what it will cost to keep your appliances running at night. For example, eight of the listed 625W panels cost ₦1,125,600 for 5kWp of panels alone. That is not a complete 5kVA inverter system: the battery, inverter, installation and other equipment still need their own prices.

Ask for an itemised quote so you can compare the same panel count, battery capacity and inverter model across suppliers:

  • Panel identity: brand, exact model, wattage, quantity and serial-number documentation.
  • System design: array size, compatible inverter or controller, battery capacity and intended appliance load.
  • Installation materials: mounting, weatherproof cable routing, connectors, earthing and suitable protection.
  • Site work: roof assessment, access, labour, transport and commissioning.
  • Support: product warranty, performance warranty, installer workmanship terms and local claim process.

A performance warranty about retained panel output is different from a product-defect warranty and from an installation warranty. Ask who handles each claim and which costs you may still bear.

Solar panel price questions

How much are Jinko and JA Solar panels?

In the linked listings checked on 21 October 2026, one Jinko Eagle 535W panel was ₦120,400. The Jinko Tiger Neo 625W and JA Solar 625W models were each ₦140,700. These prices apply to the exact models in the table; other wattages and sellers may differ.

How much do 500W, 550W or 600W solar panels cost?

We have not verified a current price for those exact ratings in this comparison. The 535W, 575W and 625W prices above are nearby alternatives, not substitutes for an exact-model quote. Do not multiply a different panel’s price per watt and treat the result as a seller’s offer.

What affects the price of solar panels?

Compare the exact model, rated watts, quantity, warranty terms and collection or transport cost. A bulk pallet rate may differ from the price for four panels. For an existing system, a cheaper module can also be a poor purchase if its voltage, current or physical dimensions do not fit the planned installation.

How many panels do I need for a 3kVA inverter?

There is no fixed answer from 3kVA alone. You need the inverter’s PV input limits, your daily appliance energy, charging requirements and local solar conditions. Our 3kVA inverter guide starts with the appliance load; the installer then sizes compatible generation and storage.

Planning the whole system? Use our home solar sizing worksheet and installation quote checklist to separate appliance demand, battery hours and daily generation.

Can I buy panels now and add batteries later?

Possibly, if the inverter supports the intended battery-free operation and later battery addition. Some systems need a battery to work as planned. Get the staged design in writing before buying, including what can run during a grid outage at each stage.

Are cheaper panels always fake?

Price alone cannot establish authenticity or quality. Check model labels, invoice details, supplier traceability, damage on delivery and the manufacturer’s verification or warranty process. A high price alone is not proof either.

Sources and limitations

We checked the four linked product pages on 21 October 2026 and used the Jinko manufacturer datasheet to explain test-condition ratings. Prices are from one retailer, not a survey of the whole Nigerian market. We have not tested these panels, inspected stock or assessed seller service. The examples are transparent calculations, not site-specific production guarantees.
